The rules our funding operates under
- No funder is given the right to edit work before it is published. While we conduct research and outreach to a range of stakeholders before publishing our work, we do not grant funders a blanket right to review.
- No funder has approval rights over anything we publish. No funder has ever been offered them, and none will be.
- Funding does not determine our conclusions. We are focused on advancing technologies and policies that serve the public interest, and addressing unacceptable risks or consequences of new technologies. When our analysis cuts against the interests of an organization that funds us, we publish it anyway.
- We disclose every funder by name. If an organization is unwilling to be named publicly, we don’t accept their donations.
